Edgar Leduc (politician) : ウィキペディア英語版 | Edgar Leduc (politician)
Edgar Leduc (4 February 1888 – 13 October 1973) was a member of the Canadian House of Commons. He was born in Valleyfield, Quebec and worked as an insurance broker. In 1918, Leduc became a municipal Secretary-Treasurer of Lachine, Quebec and remained in that position until 1923 when he began a ten-year term as an alderman of that community. He was then Lachine's Mayor from 1939 until 1944.〔 Leduc was first elected to Parliament at the Jacques Cartier riding as an independent candidate in a by-election on 4 October 1949, defeating Liberal candidate Sarto Marchand. He was re-elected as a Liberal party candidate in the 1953 federal election, when his riding was changed to Jacques-Cartier—Lasalle. After completing his only full term in the 22nd Canadian Parliament, Leduc was defeated in the 1957 election by Robert John Pratt of the Progressive Conservative party. Leduc made another unsuccessful attempt to unseat Pratt in the 1958 election. ==References== 〔
